Il brillamento solare, avvenuto il 28 ottobre, «comprimerà – spiega Media Inaf – il campo geomagnetico e inietterà particelle energetiche nella magnetosfera terrestre, causando una tempesta geomagnetica intensa e aurore polari».

Oltreoceano, potranno osservare l’aurora boreale non solo in Alaska e Canada, ma anche negli Stati Uniti. Nelle prossime ore avranno la probabilità di vedere le luci del nord Seattle, Denver, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Chicago ma anche Boston e New York.
